Job description

Pastor of Worship and Evangelism - Guinston Presbyterian Church
This new full time position is being developed to organize and orchestrate volunteer worship elements each week as well as to engage the community in ways that invite new families to find their place and grow at Guinston. They would contribute to and help lead worship liturgically (prayer, reading, sacraments, etc) and preach approximately 10 times per year.
Ministry is unpredictable and there will certainly be other unforeseen needs in the church including but not limited to weddings, funerals, hospital and home visits, counseling, etc. These duties fall primarily on the current pastor, but there may be occasions when he is unavailable. We are also willing to build on a strong applicant's strengths. As a new position these expectations can be somewhat fluid. Should a candidate have stronger gifts in one or another area, the pastor and session will periodically revisit ministry assignments.
This person should have the following skills:
Evangelism - able to articulate the Gospel and invite people into a relationship with Christ
Administrative - able to coordinate many different volunteers and teams
Communication - able to communicate effectively - both in person and via electronic means
Technology - willing to learn and stay proficient with current tech as it pertains to this position
Musical gifts - recommended as this position will be overseeing worship
Applicant must have a MDiv or similar degree from accredited seminary
Must be ordained, ordainable or willing to pursue ordination in the EPC
