Auto Accessory Installer

Build Hands-On Skills in the Automotive Industry
Road & Rail Services is hiring dependable Auto Accessory Installers to install accessories on new vehicles. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
In this role, you will inspect vehicles and parts, confirm accessory codes, complete installations according to written processes, and perform a final quality check. Attention to detail is essential because every installation must be completed correctly and documented before the vehicle moves to the next stage of production.
Experience with hand tools, torque wrenches, or light power tools is helpful. Candidates should also be comfortable standing, walking, bending, and working around a moving production line throughout the shift.

What You Will Do
Install designated accessories on new automobiles
Follow all company, customer, and facility safety procedures
Immediately communicate safety, quality, or production concerns
Inspect each vehicle for visible damage before beginning work
Verify part numbers, accessory codes, and installation instructions
Inspect accessories and components for damage or defects before installation
Complete each installation according to the applicable written process
Use hand tools, torque wrenches, and light power tools safely
Perform a complete post-installation inspection
Sign required quality-accountability documentation for every completed installation
Maintain control of assigned tools and equipment
Keep the work area clear of packaging, waste, and other debris
Safely drive manual- and automatic-transmission vehicles when required
Qualifications
Valid state-issued driver's license when required to operate company or customer equipment
Ability to read vehicle identification numbers, work instructions, and shipping documents
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written safety instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to error-free work
Ability to meet and maintain all applicable conditions of employment
Willingness to work in a fast-moving automotive production environment
Physical and Work Requirements
This position may be performed in both indoor and outdoor areas. Employees may be exposed to changing temperatures, heat, cold, dust, noise, and other conditions associated with automotive plant operations.
Candidates must be able to:
Stand or walk for prolonged periods at a production pace
Walk up to approximately five miles during an eight-hour shift
Frequently bend, kneel, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces
Safely walk on a moving assembly-line belt
Repeatedly open and close vehicle doors
Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Rarely lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Push or pull using up to 100 pounds of force
See vehicle details and safely drive in limited lighting, including nighttime, dusk, and indoor production environments
Hear and communicate normal spoken work and safety instructions
Properly wear all required personal protective equipment
