Job description

The Dispatcher plays a key role in creating a welcoming, professional, and supportive experience for Rocket Air Flight Academy students, instructors, and visitors alike. This role encompasses the duties of a Dispatcher with an additional customer service role. The Dispatcher is responsible for the successful day-to-day flight, ground, and simulator dispatching and training operations. The Dispatcher’s daily duties and activities consistently lead to safe and successful training flights.

5 Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Daily Flight Schedules, Aircraft Assignments, Instructor Availability, and Student Training Events
  • Monitor Aircraft Status, Maintenance Restrictions, Weather Conditions, and Scheduling Conflicts to Ensure Safe & Effective Utilization of Resources
  • Maintain Accurate Dispatch Records, Flight Schedules, Training Documentation, and Operational Reports in Accordance with Company Procedures
  • Serve as a Communication Link Between Students, Instructors, Aircraft Maintenance, Line Service, and Flight Training Personnel
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service by Assisting Students & Instructors with Scheduling Changes, Training Requests, Billing, and Operational Support


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety above all.
  • Maintain and optimize the daily, weekly, and monthly flight schedule. 
  • Provide customer service with current and potential student customers.
  • Manage customer billing and communication to include calls and the collection of payments. 
  • Utilize operational flight scheduling tools to ensure students are scheduled and processed for all lessons blocks.
  • Manage customer accounts and assist customers with flight training goals. 
  • Communicate customer issues to Flight Operations leadership.
  • Assist with the scheduling and observation of all accelerated flight training programs in support of the Student Services Manager.
  • Support Flight Training Coordinator and assist with execution of all company directives. 
  • Assist the Fleet Coordinator in coordinating scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance. 
  • Maintain the facility within company standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of the scheduling and billing software systems.
  • Perform general office duties and administration.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior aviation experience required. 
  • At least one year of previous Part 141 dispatch experience preferred. 
  • Strong customer service skills required. 
  • Understanding of Part 141 regulations. 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and Flight Schedule Pro. 
  • Night, weekends, and holiday hours can be expected.
  • Self-starter: motivated, team focused, and results driven.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
