Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Mammography Technologist performs routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations to obtain high quality radiographs.
  • Obtains images of excellent diagnostic quality to optimally demonstrate anatomy and/or pathology while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients.
  • The technologist educates the patient/family about the procedure as well as provides pre and post procedure instructions.
  • The technologist takes measures to provide and care for the patient's safety and properly utilizes procedure related patient care/support devices appropriate for the age of the patient.
  • Alerts Supervisor and/or appropriate staff of potential problems or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintains a relaxed environment to calm anxious patients.
  • Also performs special procedures, assists with quality control testing, and ordering of supplies.
  • Offers guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree or higher. Graduate of an ARRT approved Radiologic Technology program is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years mammography experience is required.

License Required
  • California Radiologic Technologist Diagnostic Radiologic Technology - CRTXR
  • California Radiologic Technologist Mammographic Radiologic Technology - CRTMA

Certifications Required
  • ARRT Radiography - RTR
  • AHA BLS certification
  • ARRT Mammography - RTM
