Registered Nurse (RN) - Newborn Nursery 

Location: Knapp Medical Center - Weslaco, TX

Full-Time | Nights | 12 - Hour Shifts 

The Nursery Registered Nurse provides specialized care to newborn infants in the newborn nursery, typically within the first few hours to days of life. Their primary goal is to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of newborns, and to support new parents in early infant care.

Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. 
  • The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. 
  • Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.  Provides for a safe environment for patients and visitors. 
  • Utilizes the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care from post delivery stabilization through discharge.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1.  Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State. 2.  BCLS upon hire and maintain current.3.  NRP within 30 days of hire and maintain current
