• Lead successful execution and delivery of large-scale digital projects within the oil and gas industry.
• Manage implementation and full lifecycle delivery of real-time systems used for production monitoring.
• Oversee systems supporting artificial lift surveillance and production optimization.
• Lead implementation teams and coordinate closely with production engineers, field supervisors, customers and executives.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources and delivery milestones.
• Lead stakeholder communication and project governance activities.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and decisions.
• Ensure customer requirements are translated into successful project outcomes.

• Significant oil and gas industry experience.
• Experience with digital oilfield projects.
• Experience with real-time production monitoring systems.
• Exposure to artificial lift surveillance and optimization.
• Strong stakeholder and customer management skills.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules and resources.
• Strong risk management and decision-making capability.

Recruiter Screening Focus

First priority: Oil & Gas + Project Management. Second: Digital Oilfield / real-time production systems. Third: Artificial Lift / production surveillance / optimization. Fourth: stakeholder, budget, resource and risk management. Red flag: Generic IT PM with no meaningful upstream/oilfield experience.

Market Position

Client salary of $80K–$100K is workable for the lower-to-mid portion of the Houston market, but is likely to be challenging for highly specialized 10–12 year candidates. Houston oil & gas PM compensation benchmarks currently trend around $98K–$118K+ depending on source and experience.

Recommended Candidate Profile

Senior Oil & Gas Project Manager / Digital Oilfield PM with 10–12+ years of experience, ideally from an oilfield technology, production optimization, artificial-lift, real-time operations or digital transformation environment. Candidates with a production-engineering or field-operations background who progressed into PM leadership should be strongly considered.
