Job Description: Class A CDL Driver

About the Role

We're looking for a professional and reliable Class A CDL Driver to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering materials to our customers, ensuring a high level of service and professionalism. You'll be a key part of our operations, coordinating with dispatch, working with your team, and serving as a direct point of contact for our customers.


Key Responsibilities

Deliveries and Customer Service

  • Safely transport and deliver materials to job sites using a Class A CDL truck and a Moffett forklift.

  • Secure loads properly before transport and verify all items are accounted for against the work order and backorder report.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with customers and dispatch, and by showing respect for the job site and property.

  • Confirm delivery details with the customer before leaving the yard, including estimated arrival time, job site readiness, and payment.

  • Collect payments as instructed and ensure all paperwork is properly signed and returned to the office.

Operations and Maintenance

  • Communicate effectively with the dispatcher and the entire team, assisting with loading and other tasks as needed.

  • Manage your time efficiently to meet delivery schedules and report any delays or issues to dispatch immediately.

  • Complete daily pre-trip inspections and other basic maintenance checks, such as monitoring tire pressure and engine oil levels.

  • Report all equipment maintenance issues and damages to the maintenance department and dispatch promptly.

  • Use and maintain your Electronic Logging Device (ELD) accurately and log your on-duty time before leaving the yard.

Compliance and Safety

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including those for vehicle operation, load security, and delivery procedures.

  • Follow all instructions from dispatch and management, and do not agree to unapproved pickups or deliveries.

  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and maintain a valid Class A CDL license.

  • Keep accurate records of all deliveries, including taking and submitting photos of unloaded materials at job sites.


Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

  • Proven experience as a Class A CDL driver

  • Experience operating a Moffett forklift is a plus, but we can provide training

  • Strong communication and time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Clean driving record and a commitment to safety
