Location: United States (Reading, Charleston, or remote depending on project needs - combination of office, project site, and supplier facility environment)
Travel: As required to support projects, audits, suppliers, and regulatory engagements - periodic travel to nuclear facilities, projects, fabrication shops, and client locations
Position Summary:
The Nuclear Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a compliant Nuclear Quality Assurance Program in accordance with ASME NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, and applicable NRC and customer requirements. This role provides independent QA oversight across nuclear projects, suppliers, and internal execution teams, ensuring that safety-related work is planned, performed, documented, and verified in full regulatory compliance, including ownership of the Nuclear QA Manual and implementing procedures.
A key responsibility of this role is to reestablish and maintain a fully compliant ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Quality Assurance Program, including restoration of governance, procedures, training, audit capability, and regulatory readiness.
The position supports owner's engineer, new build, advanced reactor/SMR, fuel cycle, life-extension, and decommissioning projects and interfaces directly with clients, regulators, suppliers, and senior project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Nuclear Quality Assurance Program Leadership
  • Re-establish, implement, and maintain the Nuclear Quality Assurance Program in full compliance with ASME NQA-1 and applicable NRC regulations
  • Maintain nuclear QA governance, procedures, training, audit programs, and records management
  • Establish a graded, risk-informed application of ASME NQA-1 appropriate to projects when full ASME NQA-1 program is not required
  • Define and enforce nuclear records lifecycle controls (creation, review/approval, retention, retrieval) to ensure traceability and audit readiness
