This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled imaging team in a patient-focused environment. The position offers daylight hours Monday through Friday, with department hours between 6:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Enjoy a great work-life balance with no weekends, no holiday requirements, and no mandatory call responsibilities. For those interested in expanding their skillset, there is also an opportunity to cross-train and participate in call coverage within the Shadyside Nuclear Medicine Department.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate exceptional patient care by interacting with patients and colleagues in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member within the department and across disciplines to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.
  • Clearly explain procedures and provide instructions to patients to help alleviate concerns and encourage cooperation.
  • Ensure all studies are accurately coded and tracked through the RIS system, properly transmitted to iSite for interpretation and archiving, and appropriately charged.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding the receipt, use, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review patient histories and physician orders, applying departmental protocols to obtain optimal imaging results while documenting necessary information in the electronic medical record.
  • Calculate, measure, and document patient doses in accordance with departmental policies and Radiation Safety Guidelines.
  • Perform nuclear medicine examinations with a high level of technical skill and proficiency, producing quality diagnostic images.
  • Complete all required quality control testing on imaging and non-imaging equipment to ensure proper operation and performance.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to radiation safety and infection prevention protocols.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program or candidate meets NMTCB alternate eligibility criteria.
  • Active Computed Tomography (CT) certification preferred or board eligible.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT(N) or CNMT registry or registry eligible
  • Must obtain registry within 12 months of hire.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireIf working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
