Available Position:
Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time Night Shift (7PM-7AM)
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide full-time night shift coverage (7PM-7AM), primarily in the inpatient setting, with the opportunity for cross-training to assist in the emergency room as needed.
This job description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other work assignments not mentioned.
SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct and coordinate all aspects of nursing care in accordance with established nursing standards, conduct comprehensive patient assessments based on patient condition, and monitor patient condition and communicate any changes to healthcare staff.
  • Administer medications and IV fluids as ordered by a licensed provider.
  • Initiate or assist with hospital codes and CPR interventions as required.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and provide education to patients and families in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Document all assessments, care provided, medications administered, and patient responses accurately in the EMR.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to LPNs, PCTs, and other assistive staff.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend staff meetings, with at least 70% attendance, to stay updated on policy and procedural changes.
  • Participate in mandatory in-services, safety drills, and continuing education activities.
  • Adhere to hospital dress code, attendance policies, and behavioral standards.
  • Support new employee orientation and student clinical rotations when assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current and active RN license for the State of Alabama.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Minimum one year of hospital RN experience preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Classification Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
  • Occasional lifting, prolonged standing, and assisting patients with mobility.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and assist patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and perform physically demanding tasks associated with patient care.
