Job description

Schedule: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM), with approximately 8 weeks of call for Stroke and General Neurology each year.

Location: Arlington, VA

Compensation: Competitive base salary along with attractive bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • We are looking for a vibrant, patient-focused General Neurologist to become part of our well-established, hospital-based Neurology team.
  • The role involves engaging in clinical activities across the Neurology service line, particularly with a focus on outpatient general neurology.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for treating General Neurology patients are essential.
  • Participation in Stroke and General Neurology call is expected, covering approximately 8 weeks of inpatient responsibilities each year.
  • You will collaborate with a team of four Physicians and four Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), which includes one Neuro-Interventionalist and three Vascular Neurologists; we also have a partnership with an Epilepsy group that interprets all EEGs.
  • The position includes developing and sustaining an outpatient neurological practice on the main campus, with potential support for an off-site multi-specialty practice as needed.
  • Contribute to clinical services, research, and education within the teaching hospital.
  • Actively engage in the medical community, demonstrating strong professional citizenship.
  • Exhibit excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director to support the Department of Neurology.
Minimum Requirements
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Current licensure or eligibility to obtain licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
  • Successful completion of a residency program in Neurology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
  • Familiarity with EPIC (EMR) is preferred.
  • Post-fellowship experience in General Neurology is advantageous.

  • Accredited Stroke Center with a comprehensive Neurology team.
  • Medical Director specializing in Neurointerventional procedures.
  • Full-Time Neuro-Hospitalists covering half of the Stroke and General Neurology call.
  • Full-Time Neurologist with a focus on migraine and headache management.
  • Three Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) sharing responsibilities between office and inpatient care.
