Mercy Hospital Springfield

Full-Time: Thursday - Saturday (3 - 12-hour shifts)

Nights: 6:30PM to 7:00AM

Overview:

The MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, mostly MRI equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. Responsibilities also include serving as lead when leadership is unavailable and assisting new caregiver orientation and training. The MRI Technologist position also requires a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion required clinical hours.
  • Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience OR graduate of Bachelor degree program
  • Licensure: State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Certification: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT; BLS Basic Life Support

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred certifications: MRSO (Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer) or MRSE (Magnetic Resonance Safety Expert) certification
  • Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Thorough understanding of protocols and ability to make adjustments as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
