Job description

Overview
$10,000 Sign on Bonus for full-time!
Shift Options:
1. Full-time 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday, one weekday call rotation every other week, one weekend call rotation every tenth week. Holiday rotation.
2. PRN - Varied as needed
The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI and X-ray exams (based on department needs) under the direction of a radiologist. The MRI Technologist provides compassionate direct patient care with an emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The MRI Technologist operates MRI and X-ray equipment (if applicable) to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body utilizing various pulse sequences and surface coils. The MRI Technologist is required to participate in an on-call rotation outside of business hours based on department needs and must be able to work some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a liaison between the Radiology Department, students, hospital staff and physicians.
  • Educates and protects all customers entering the magnetic field.
  • Assists with sedating and monitoring of patients.
  • Assists in the educational training of the Student Radiologic Technologists.
  • Assists with quality assurance processes.

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. ARRT Registered. Maintain yearly CEU requirements. Must be able to read, speak and write fluent English.
EXPERIENCE: MRI experience.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: ARRT Registered Radiology Technologist. ARRT MRI Board Registered. Current Iowa Permit to Practice. CPR certified.
