Brighter Soul Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our full-time clinical team. This remote role allows for maximum flexibility while you make a significant impact on the mental wellness of individuals, couples, and families in Virginia Beach and beyond. Key Responsibilities

As an LMFT at Brighter Soul Counseling, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial assessments and developing individualized treatment plans tailored to the needs of each couple and family.
  • Facilitating joint and individual therapy sessions to address complex relational dynamics, including:
    • Alcohol and substance abuse issues
    • Patterns of physical and psychological abuse
    • Grief and loss challenges
    • Conflict resolution among family members
    • Communication barriers within relationships
  • Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help clients build healthier relationships and cope with life transitions.
  • Regularly reviewing progress with clients and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to maximize outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate client records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve engaging with adults, children, and adolescents facing a spectrum of challenges, including adjustment issues related to separation, divorce, and blended family dynamics. You will play a crucial role in fostering an environment where clients can feel safe to express their concerns about their personal relationships and family issues.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A valid and active LMFT license in the state of Virginia.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing compassionate and effective therapy to diverse client populations.
