Staff Metallurgist
Minimum 5 Years experience in Metallurgist
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Metallurgist to fill a opening with a manufacturing company located in Metro Detroit. The ideal candidates should have a background in Metallurgy and related lab tests and procedures.
Requirements of the Staff Metallurgist
  • Associate's degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in steel processing, annealing, and heat treatment processes.
  • Familiarity with automotive OEM supplier standards (IATF16949, AIAG, VDA, etc.).
  • Versed with ISO9001 compliance / internal audits

Responsibilities of the Staff Metallurgist
  • Lead the implementation of Root Cause, Corrective, and Preventative Actions (CAPA)
  • Develop, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures
  • Manage external laboratory testing processes.
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment (both lab and micrometers), ensuring all calibration records are up to date
  • Plan and coordinate testing to ensure products and processes adhere to customer and industry standards
  • Evaluate proposed changes in design, process and materials to current specifications
