Job description

HHAeXchange is the leading technology platform for home and community-based care. Founded in 2008, HHAeXchange was born out of an idea to create an end-to-end homecare solution to help people who are aging or have disabilities thrive in their homes and communities. Our employees are passionate about transforming the healthcare space by building the only homecare ecosystem that fully connects patients, caregivers, home care provider agencies, and payers.
We're looking for a Sr. Full Stack Engineer who's eager to think big and build products that make a difference, improving the experience of tens of thousands of caregivers and families. You'll work across the full stack - from intuitive frontends to scalable backend services - diving into technologies like Go, Angular, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQS, Kubernetes, and GenAI tooling.
This role is for thoughtful, driven builders who thrive on solving complex challenges alongside a talented team of engineers. You must value a 'startup-like' culture on a small but mighty team that unlocks rapid iteration cycles through a quick but thoughtful decision-making process.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Essential Job Duties
  • Build the Foundation for Scalability: Drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of APIs and microservices that enable robust functionality and seamless integrations.
  • Excel in Full Stack Development: Gain hands-on expertise in frontend with Angular and backend with Go, while optimizing cloud infrastructure for efficient scaling.
  • Cultivate Mentorship & A Standard of Excellence: Mentor fellow software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence. Conduct code reviews, providing feedback to improve team efficiency and maintain quality coding standards
  • Integrate Gen AI Innovations: Incorporate generative AI into our agency management software, boosting usability and efficiency to create intuitive experiences that users love.
  • Push the Envelope: Encourage exploration of new technologies, tools, and approaches to continually enhance our platform for better user outcomes.
  • Guide Strategic Decisions: Evaluate priorities, options, and tradeoffs to inform key development choices.
  • Collaborate with a Passionate Team of Peers: Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, align on objectives, and deliver features that exceed expectations.
  • Ensure Lasting Quality: Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to uphold high standards of software reliability.

This Role Is a Good Fit for You If:
  • Love a challenge and want to learn fast by doing important work.
  • Are excited to touch every layer of the stack and see how software and infrastructure fit together end-to-end.
  • Have a bias toward ownership, creativity, and seeing results.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are quite the same.
  • Want the energy of a startup with the stability of a proven company.

Other Job Duties
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or HHAeXchange leader.

Travel Requirements
  • Travel 5-10%, including overnight travel, domestic & abroad (US and other delivery locations)

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Skills
  • 4-8 years of experience in software engineering roles building on modern architectures and frameworks
  • Proficiency in one reactive JavaScript framework, such as Angular, React, or Vue
  • Proficiency with backend-development, such as Go, NodeJS, or Python (Go experience strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL/MongoDB
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools
  • Experience with high-performance SaaS solutions built on microservices and serverless architectures
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible, team player
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence is a plus
  • Healthcare experience and familiarity with HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards is a plus
