 IMC is currentlyhiring a Physician Practice Specialist, for the IMC Family Practice Clinic, who under thegeneral supervision of the practice supervisor, is required to have knowledgeto perform all roles in the front clerical office which includes but notlimited to:

  • Answer phones and takedetailed messages
  • Greet and/or assistpatients
  • Knowledge of Practice ManagementSystem (Caretracker)
  • Checking in/out ofpatients
  • Input Demographics
  • Verify Insurance
  • Collection ofco-pays/coinsurances
  • Knowledge and Input ofbilling
  • Closeout/Balance Chargesand payments at the end of clinic
  • Scheduling patients withreferring physician offices
  • Assist in otherclinics as directed by supervisor
  • Assist in training ofnew employees.  

 EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma 
  • Certification from a billing/coding program preferred

 TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimal one-year commutative working experience in some type of billing and coding position if possible.
  • Must have had exposure in previous jobs with working and communicating with the public as a customer.
  • Medical practice background preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years previous experience in the filing and collection of Medicaid rules and regulations.

 JOB KNOWLEDGE

  • Medicaid rules and regulations as it pertains to office visits
  • Insurance rules and regulations as it pertains to office visits

 PRINCIPLE TASKS,DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answers phones and takes detailed messages
  • Prepares charts for clinic
  • Greets and assists patients
  • Assist with registration inputting demographics
  • Verifying of insurance
  • Collecting and entering of charges and payments
  • Balances charges and payments at the end of clinic
  • Communicates with referring offices in gaining necessary information.
  • Assists in training new employees.
