Job description

About the Job:
Allergy and Asthma Clinic of East Lansing is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. We are looking for an eager professional ready to jump into our growing practice and become part of the team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of our office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Rooming patients.
  • Taking and recording vitals (Weight, height, blood pressure, respiration, pulse, spo2, temp).
  • Confirming drug allergies and entering demographics/preferred pharmacies into our prescription software for streamlining medications for patients.
  • Perform Skin Prick Allergy Testing.
  • Helping facilitate office food and drug challenges, and venom testing.
  • Administer injections including some vaccines, immunotherapy injections, biologic injections for Chronic Hives, Asthma, and more.
  • Helping treat anaphylaxis in shot patients or patients with challenges. Including retrieving the anaphylaxis bin, getting vitals, drawing up epinephrine from the ampule, documenting, and assuring the provider is notified to evaluate.
  • Perform spirometry testing on patients with Asthma, and COPD, Reactive Airway Disease.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate.
  • Preferred Certified Medical Assistant.
  • BLS/CPR certified.
