Job description

EIT or Licensed Mechanical Engineer

Bowley Jones LLC is an Architecture & Consulting MEP Engineering firm seeking a licensed full-time Mechanical Engineer or EIT to join our growing team in Severn, Maryland. As a contributing member and leader of the team, you will manage a portfolio of mechanical consulting projects from start to finish. You will perform all aspects of the mechanical engineering process including site survey, documentation, design, client relationships, and construction administration. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who wants to directly contribute to company success and grow with us.

Activities Include

  • Conduct site and building system surveys.
  • Develop and draw design solutions.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings.
  • Provide construction administration services.
  • Grow and maintain professional relationships with local jurisdictions and applicable utility companies, including working knowledge of coordination processes.
  • Provide stellar customer service and maintain relationships with clients and partner firms.

Qualifications

  • PE license in Maryland preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University program.
  • Experience designing electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems in buildings.
  • Experience in design and modification of systems for multifamily, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Broad knowledge of standard codes and compliance methods.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required to undertake multiple projects.
  • Understanding and application of IBC, ASHRAE, and NFPA codes for completing mechanical design work.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
