Job Title: Elementary Numeracy/ Math Coach
Location: Nashville, TN; Jackson, MS

We are seeking an Elementary Numeracy/Math Coach who believes deeply in early numeracy development, conceptual math instruction, and the power of strong teacher coaching to drive scholar mastery. What You'll Do
Instructional Leadership & Coaching (Math Focus)
  • Develop a comprehensive math coaching plan aligned to RePublic's math vision and state standards.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide actionable feedback on conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving structures.
  • Lead coaching cycles include lesson modeling, co-teaching, guided practice, and progress monitoring.
  • Support teachers in implementing high-quality math instruction that fosters mathematical discourse, reasoning, and sense-making using the HQIMs.
Instructional Planning & Teacher Support
  • Support internalization of math curriculum, including unit unpacking, lesson planning, manipulatives usage, and problem-solving routines.
  • Facilitate grade-level planning meetings and PLCs centered on mathematical understanding.
  • Provide expertise in early numeracy, including counting principles, place value, operations, and foundational geometry and measurement.
Data-Driven Math Instruction
  • Guide teachers in analyzing numeracy data (e.g., Interims, DO Now, exit tickets, Fluency checks, screeners, student work, etc. ).
  • Identify trends in scholar misconceptions and skill gaps.
  • Support teachers in creating targeted intervention groups and re-teach plans.
  • Collaborate on tracking scholar progress toward math goals.
Professional Learning & Development
  • Design and deliver PD in math content knowledge, math pedagogy, problem-solving routines, and small-group instruction.
  • Lead PLCs that promote curriculum study, practice, and reflection.
  • Provide training on curriculum implementation, manipulatives, math talk moves, and assessment literacy.
Instructional Systems & Alignment
  • Ensure alignment with RePublic's academic frameworks and math curriculum expectations.
  • Maintain coaching notes and development data for teacher support and decision-making.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of successful elementary math teaching experience
  • Strong track record of moving student achievement in math
  • Expertise in conceptual math instruction and elementary numeracy

Highly Preferred
  • Experience as an elementary math coach or math lead
    Strong understanding of early numeracy and math content progressions
  • Familiarity with high-quality math curriculum (e.g., Eureka Math, Illustrative Math)
