What You'll Do

The Site Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth, consistent daily operation of the Saga Math Lab. Serving as the on-site supervisor, this position is responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of the program at their assigned school. The Site Coordinator ensures that Math Lab remains a high-quality, structured learning environment where students, tutors, and tutorials can thrive. In this role, the Site Coordinator manages day-to-day operations, supports and supervises Tutors and upholds the systems, routines, and culture that drive strong student outcomes. In partnership with the Program Manager, the Site Coordinator identifies site trends and executes action plans that sustain or improve student, tutor, and overall program performance.

Classroom Management & Student Environment

  • Manage classroom behavior, routines, and systems while supporting a positive and productive team environment.
  • Create and maintain systems aligned with school policies, including safe learning expectations, bathroom pass procedures, phone-use guidelines, daily student greetings, and student incentive structures.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of Saga classroom procedures, structures, and expectations.
  • Design and maintain the Saga Math Lab environment, including décor, posters, and incentive trackers.
  • Troubleshoot on-site technology challenges for tutors and students, collaborating with internal support teams when needed.

Tutor Supervision & Daily Operations

  • Supervise and support the daily activities of Math Tutors in the classroom.
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts among tutors or between tutors and students to minimize disruption and support positive outcomes, escalating more complex issues to the Program Manager as needed.
  • Collect and maintain accurate daily attendance records for both tutors and students.
  • Enact coverage procedures when tutors are absent to ensure continuity of instruction.
  • Support engagement with learning platforms and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Ensure incident reporting procedures are followed consistently.
  • Request supplies, materials, and incentives in partnership with the Program Manager.

Data Monitoring & Intervention

  • Monitor, and analyze student progress and attendance data to develop intervention plans in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Ensure data collection systems and routines are in place and are implemented to meet data deliverable timelines.
  • Collect, upload, and report student, tutor, and site implementation data to Saga platforms and relevant Saga teams.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager or designated school partner to create and distribute adaptive practice assignments and/or assessments.

Collaboration & Culture

  • Meet regularly with math teachers to align on curriculum and instruction, ensuring tutors implement aligned practices.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered team culture focused on accountability and continuous learning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school staff and administration.
  • Collaborate with internal Saga departments as needed.
  • Communicate consistently with Program Manager through 1:1s, verbal and written communication, and through Saga's platforms to share site insights, successes and challenges.

What You Bring

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • 1+ year experience in middle or high school math education (tutor, teacher, student teacher), a school-based education non-profit, or as a Saga In-Person or Lead Tutor.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in high school mathematics (Algebra I & II and Geometry)
  • Commitment to using Google Suite and/or other Saga data tracking software.
  • Comfortable learning and navigating multiple technology platforms.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities within a day or week.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with students, tutors, and school stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills; able to lead and engage a full group in a classroom or comparable setting.
  • Lived or work experience in historically underserved communities.
  • [Site Specific] Travel / Driving: Depending on site assignment, this role may require daily travel between two school sites, which typically involves driving between locations unless utilizing public transit.
