POSITION: Lead Enrichment Teacher

TYPE: School-based

GRADE LEVEL: Hiring for elementary education positions

LOCATION: Tacoma, WA

SALARY: $64,711-$92,416 based on aligned years of experience

STATUS: Full time school year, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position

START: August 3, 2026

REPORTS TO: School Principal or their designee

Learning Environment and Classroom Management

Instructional Practices

  • Consistently apply best practices aligned with the Impact instructional model, tailoring teaching methods to the unique nature of enrichment subjects. Infuse creativity and innovation into lessons, engaging students in meaningful exploration and discovery.

Planning and Preparation

  • Implement engaging lesson plans provided by IPS' Academics team, adapting them to the dynamic nature of movement, art, and recess activities while anticipating student responses, proactively addressing potential challenges, and plan targeted questions to facilitate comprehensive and effective instruction.

Modeling Core Values

  • Exemplify and consistently model Impact core values in every interaction while adhering to campus norms that align with the organization's values, creating an inclusive environment where students feel a strong sense of belonging.

Commitment to Equity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working to close the opportunity gap

  • Passion for equity and gap closing teaching experience with proven record of student growth

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field or actively working towards completing a bachelor's degree

License/Certification

  • Must have or be eligible for certification by OSPI with an endorsement in Elementary Education (within 1-month of employment required)

  • Must have or be eligible to obtain a food handler certification

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching throughout the day. Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) with occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds). The employee must have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Work is primarily inside but has daily responsibilities outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather).

  • Complete SafeSchools trainings
