Job description

Bull Moose Tube is seeking to hire a full-time Material Handler/Shipping & Receiving in our Chicago Heights, IL location.  Shift hours are 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.  *Must have open availability.

SUMMARY: Use customer pick sheet to stage loads to be shipped to customer, loads pipe and tubing bundles onto outgoing trailers using  overhead crane, spreader bar, pry bar, nylon slings, and forklift if needed. Unloads pipe and tubing bundles from incoming shipments and stores in the plant warehouse.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Read & understand shipping customer pick sheet
  2. Prepare loads for shipping
  3. Operate overhead crane
  4. Block loads
  5. Operate forklift (as needed)
  1. Fill propane tank
  2. Work safely
  3. Other duties as periodically assigned

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships
  2. Comply with all Company policies and procedures
  3. Able to operate scanner to scan bundles being shipped
  4. Able to understand and effectively use computerized JDE system to inquire on loads

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Able to push/pull using up to 100 pounds of force
  2. Able to lift 50 pounds
  3. Able to operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  4. Work well in a team-based environment
  5. Able to work in an environment without climate control
  6. Able to stand on cement floors for 8-16 hours per day
  7. Available to work overtime and/or various shifts as needed
  8. Strong attention to detail
  9. Able to communicate effectively internally and externally

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Strong verbal and math skills
  3. Minimum of 1 year of overhead crane or forklift experience
  4. Able to accurately read a tape measure
  5. Computer literacy
  6. Maintain regular and reliable attendance
