Could you be the full-time DevOps Engineer in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

We’re looking for a motivated DevOps Engineer to help modernize and automate our infrastructure. You’ll contribute to real-world delivery, and grow your skills across Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and systems administration. Day to day, you’ll collaborate with engineering, IT, and project stakeholders to support reliable, scalable environments.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell under guidance from senior engineers
  • Help maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitLab (writing/adjusting jobs, troubleshooting builds, managing runners)
  • Follow established branching strategies and help maintain repositories (merge requests, reviews, resolving basic conflicts)
  • Assist with provisioning and configuration management across Linux and Windows environments
  • Support virtualization tasks in VMware and Suse Harvester (creating VMs, templates, and images)
  • Automate routine tasks using Bash and/or PowerShell; create simple scripts and runbooks
  • Monitor environments, respond to alerts, and perform routine maintenance and patching
  • Participate in deployments and release activities, ensuring changes follow defined processes
  • Contribute to documentation (SOPs, runbooks, topology, and pipeline docs)
  • Research and trial new tools or approaches on small proof-of-concept tasks, sharing findings with the team
  • Collaborate closely with teammates, escalate issues appropriately, and participate in retrospectives and continuous improvement

  • Degree in Software Engineering, IT, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps/SRE/system administration or related internships/projects
  • Understanding of DevOps practices: version control, CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, and observability
  • Familiarity with Git and GitLab (branches, merge requests, reviews)
  • Hands-on exposure to Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell, and eagerness to learn the others
  • Comfortable with Linux command line and Windows Server basics (Active Directory/DNS knowledge is a plus)
  • Scripting ability in Bash and/or PowerShell for automation and administrative tasks
  • Fundamental networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; collaborative mindset and growth attitude
  • Experience with VMware or other virtualization platforms; exposure to Suse Harvester is a plus
  • Container basics and introductory Kubernetes knowledge preferred
