Job description

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist the Maintenance Director (MD) in maintaining and operating the physical aspects of the Property.
Location: Spring Arbor of Cary
Shift: 9am-5pm & every other weekend
Pay: $18- $22/hr depending on experience!
Areas of Responsibility
  • Assist the MD to ensure that the Community is always covered in the event of an emergency.
  • Assist the MD in the preventative and routine maintenance programs to ensure that mechanical equipment, building structures and grounds are properly maintained.
  • Assist the MD in the safe operation of all mechanical equipment through routine physical inspections.
  • Assist MD to ensure that all maintenance work and storage areas are maintained in a safe, organized, and clean manner.
  • Assist MD in maintaining online work order system, efficiently use the system and help delegate work orders to staff.
  • Follow OSHA and Company guidelines relating to lock down and tag out procedures that are approved for the Community and follow OSHA standards for safe working procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of one (1) year maintenance-related experience including working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
  • Must be an independent worker with effective communication skills able to multi-task and be organized.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school diploma preferred.
  • HVAC and other related maintenance certifications desirable.
