Job description

Machinist - Framing Technology Inc.

Location: Rochester, NY

Work Type: Warehouse

Pay: $20-22 per hour

Framing Technology Inc. is looking for a motivated, dedicated Machinist to join our team.

We manufacture and assemble t-slot aluminum extrusion and use it in applications such as enclosures, industrial fencing, conveyors, and more. The machinist works with drills, saws, and other machines to cut, mill, drill, tap, and deburr the raw aluminum stock. We rely on their precision and accuracy to produce quality parts that later are assembled or sent in kit form to a diverse customer base.

As a team-member, your job duties will also include cross-training in other departments and/or performing general warehouse tasks as assigned by your supervisor. Flexibility and a positive attitude are a must. Our belief is that everyone pitches in to help in any area necessary to make sure our customers are satisfied and given a quality product.

Employee satisfaction and fulfillment are important at Framing Tech. We offer full-time daytime shifts that are flexible between 6:30 am and 4 pm.

  • 40 hours of sick time available to start (pro-rated depending on start date).

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to operate and maintain drills, mills, and saws to complete the assigned tasks.
  • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints, and samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Select appropriate machine for a given task.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation.
  • Maintain raw inventory and issues materials as tasked.
  • Accountable for safety relative to training and compliance in following all policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the team by assisting other machinists when needed.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school or higher

  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety

  • Proficient in math

  • Basic computer skills

  • Able to comfortably lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both supervisors and coworkers
