Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Systems Engineer with proven experience in systems and network administration for both on-premises and cloud based systems (Azure). You will contribute to the design, administration, and troubleshooting of core infrastructure services across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, Azure, servers, network, storage, and backup platforms. This position requires strong technical fundamentals, practical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support secure, reliable IT services in a fast-paced environment with 24x7 support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Systems Engineering: Provide infrastructure support across servers, Active Directory, storage, backup platforms, endpoint services, virtualization, and other critical systems under the guidance of Lead and Senior Engineers.
  • Networking & Connectivity: Support and troubleshoot enterprise networking services, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, wireless, segmentation, and connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Azure & Microsoft Cloud Administration: Support Azure and Microsoft 365 infrastructure services, including identity, access, security controls, Azure networking, monitoring, and cloud-based infrastructure components.
  • Microsoft Copilot & AI Support: Help administer, secure, and support Microsoft Copilot and other AI platforms, including user enablement, access controls, data protection considerations, adoption support, and troubleshooting.
  • Security Monitoring: Track and analyze alerts from SIEM and security tools to identify unusual activity, reduce risk, and escalate potential incidents when appropriate.
  • Incident Response: Support the identification, triage, analysis, and resolution of security incidents or breaches, including documentation of findings, containment steps, and lessons learned.
  • Vulnerability Management & Threat Intelligence: Work within our vulnerability management systems to detect, prioritize, and assist with remediation of security vulnerabilities across Windows and Linux systems, network devices, IoT, cloud services, and other enterprise assets and stay informed on emerging cybersecurity threats, cloud security trends, and networking risks, contributing to the improvement of security policies, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear records of configuration changes, security events, investigations, remediation activities, network diagrams, and operational procedures for management and technical teams.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional IT teams, business users, vendors, and leadership to implement security controls, improve service reliability, and enhance the overall security posture.
  • Escalation & Advanced Support: Serve as an escalation point for service desk and end-user support issues, ensuring timely resolution of complex technical problems and providing guidance to IT support staff.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity) preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure support, cybersecurity operations, network administration, Microsoft 365 administration, Azure administration, or a closely related technical role.
  • Microsoft 365 & Copilot: Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and a strong interest in Microsoft Copilot administration, governance, security, adoption, and user support.
  • Azure Skills: Working knowledge of Azure services such as Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, Azure networking, monitoring, security controls, and cloud infrastructure administration.
  • Networking Skills: Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, switching, VLANs, VPN, firewall concepts, wireless, and common troubleshooting tools.
  • Operating Systems: Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows desktop, and Linux operating systems, including patching, hardening, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Security Tools: Experience with vulnerability management platforms, endpoint security tools, SIEM solutions, Microsoft Defender technologies, or similar security platforms is preferred.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and the ability to work through ambiguous technical issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical, security, cloud, and networking concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while taking ownership of assigned tasks and follow-through.
  • Eagerness to Learn: Passion for ongoing professional development in cybersecurity, Microsoft cloud services, AI-enabled productivity tools, networking, and systems engineering.

Preferred Experience:
  • Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Copilot administration/support, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel, or Intune.
  • Azure networking, hybrid connectivity, virtual networks, VPN gateways, network security groups, and cloud monitoring.
  • Firewall administration, routing/switching, wireless networking, SD-WAN, WAN optimization, or network segmentation.
  • PowerShell scripting, automation, reporting, or administration of enterprise IT systems.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365 Administrator, Security+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent practical experience.
