You, our Ideal Candidate
The Life Safety Manager is responsible for monitoring the safety and transportation operations for the entire campus. This position implements safety policies, regulations, rules, and norms and makes sure that the environment is safe for residents, associates, and guests. The Life Safety Manager is a working Manager, providing staffing coverage for shifts as needed and will hire, train, provide oversight and direction to Life Safety team so that goals and objectives are met.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and hold regular Fire drills, Tornado drills, elopement drills, active shooter and other safety related drills in accordance with LEC policy and Local, State and Federal regulation.
  • Be responsible for maintaining, testing, and daily operation ( in coordination with Omnia) of the generator, wet and dry fire system, fire extinguishers, and Wanderguard systems. Perform daily verification of wanderguard monitors are working correctly along with testing the wander devices for each resident.
  • Directing ambulances when they arrive to the community
  • Investigate safety and security incidents that occur on campus property. Resolve all queries and complaints in an efficient manner
  • Quarterly mattress inspections
  • Add, delete, and maintain the battery-operated call pendants and the system programming
  • Monitor weekly the grounds and facility spaces to ensure trip, fall, burn, or other hazards are reduced or corrected (cracks in sidewalks, lips in pavement that could cause a trip or fall risk, curbs are painted yellow to reduce trip/falls)
  • Acting first responder when independent living resident fall occurs
  • Monitor daily hot water temperature in all licensed areas are within correct temperature range
  • Oversee transfer agreements with local hospitals, other nursing facilities as per regulation
  • Oversee testing as scheduled by ODH for Legionella and any remediation efforts. Ensure weekly flushing or all water outlets, especially vacant, or out of the way spaces.
  • Maintain current driving records on associates with privileges to operate facility vehicles
  • Maintain current registration, maintenance, and operation of all facility vehicles
  • Oversee the CPR/AED/First training requirements are current for all required associates and coordinate ongoing training to maintain their up-to-date status
  • Test fire alarms, detection systems, extinguishers, and emergency call systems
  • Occasionally deliver meals to resident homes
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree in related field preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR/AED/First Aid training
