Production Operator – Manufacturing

Location: Rochester, NY
Schedule: Rotating 12-Hour Shift ("Fireman's Rotation")

  • 2 Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • 2 Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

  • Rotating schedule with built-in days off

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate production equipment, monitor product quality, complete production documentation, and support continuous manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality products according to established procedures.

  • Perform visual inspections and use inspection tools to verify product quality.

  • Make basic machine adjustments to maintain production efficiency.

  • Accurately complete production records and quality documentation.

  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality requirements.

  • Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to minimize downtime and resolve production issues.

  • Communicate equipment or quality concerns to supervisors and support personnel.

  • Participate in shift changeovers to ensure smooth production transitions.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Operate computer-controlled equipment and enter production information into company systems.

  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean manufacturing practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment (cGMP, SOPs, quality systems, or similar) preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new equipment.

  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.

  • SAP experience is a plus.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements
