Job description

Salary:

Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is searching for experienced Ironworkers to join our Industrial Services Team. This position will work in the Little Rock metro area. This is a full-time position with standard work hours, but hours can vary depending on the project time frame.

The Ironworker is responsible for laying out and fabricating structural steel and sheet metal. You will report directly to the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent. As a core company member, you will be expected to be professional, polite, friendly, reliable, and attentive while also being accurate. You should always be prepared, organized, and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly while not being afraid to ask for help when needed.

Responsibilities:


  • Study specifications in blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required and work requirements.

  • Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.

  • Bolt aligned structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.

  • Cut, bend or weld steel pieces using the appropriate tools.

  • Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of Metal Building experience required.

  • Be available to work overtime and possibly weekends.

  • Welding certifications not required but preferred.

  • The ability to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.

  • Be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.

  • Effective at both verbal and written communication.

  • Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Baldwin & Shell standards and processes.
