Job description

We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to buy goods and services necessary for our business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and have a good commercial mindset, communication skills to negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.

Purchasing Primary Responsibilities and Activities

  • Obtain quotes for requested materials, supplies and services.
  • Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers.
  • Develop, Write, and Verify Purchase Orders for requested materials, supplies, and services.
  • Monitor and perform follow-up on all outstanding Purchase Orders.
  • Resolve Purchase Orders differences: price differences with quotes and billed amounts; resolve all quantity differences.
  • Handle purchased returns.

Develop profitable purchasing strategies.

  • Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics.
  • Monitor stock levels and critical shortage report.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and
  • compliance to terms of contracts.
  • Track Vendor Quality and performance ratings to ensure Purchase Item Quality.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)
  • Assist in the maintenance and writing of purchasing procedures.
  • Run errands such as obtain local supplies, and mail pick up.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong analytical mindset

Typical Benefits Package:

  • This is a full-time day shift position - Schedule is a 9/80 pay period. 1st week Mon-Thu 6am-3:30pm & Fri 6am-2:30pm 2nd week Mon-Thu 6am-3:30pm & Fri off.
  • Benefits package available after 3 months: Medical, Dental, Optical, PPTO, 401K.
  • Salary: Depending on Capabilities and Experience
