Job Description

The Inventory & Kitchen Operations Specialist ensures accurate inventory management across Eataly’s departments and locations while supporting Back-of-House (BOH) operations. This role bridges the gap between inventory control, finance, and kitchen operations to maintain data integrity, optimize processes, and support operational efficiency. This position collaborates closely with our Finance and Chefs Team. Reports daily to the Head Chef, while functionally reporting to the FP&A Analyst.

Inventory Management

  • Update inventory and associated databases, including Point of Sale systems, to ensure accurate data and valuation.
  • Enter all physical invoices, returns, transfers, and other inventory movements into inventory management software.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent discrepancies and troubleshoot errors as directed.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and monthly inventories, analyzing gaps and ensuring accuracy.
  • Create new inventory items across all databases following standard procedures.
  • Liaise with Finance, vendor representatives, and Store Managers to maintain up-to-date inventory records.
  • Manage vendor relationships, assess credits and shortages, and work with relevant teams to resolve issues.

Kitchen Operations Support

  • Support the Executive Chef and Chef Team with daily BOH operations.
  • Collect, maintain, and distribute recipes and ingredients across outlets.
  • Enter and maintain recipes in Eataly’s database software.
  • Guide Chefs on ordering, tracking costs, and completing urgent orders.
  • Maintain order guides, logs, transfer sheets, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for BOH outlets.
  • Receive purchase orders from other stores and process orders for shipment.
  • Act as a liaison between inter-store departments and BOH teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support recipe costing, menu margin analysis, and product forecasting activities by preparing reports and collaborating with Finance and the Chef Team.
  • Coordinate recipe updates, ingredient substitutions, nutrition information, and related communications to ensure consistency and accuracy across all outlets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry and inventory management skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and Point of Sale software.
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations, recipe management, and BOH procedures.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and vendors.

  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends and holidays
