Job description

Title: Inventory Specialist I / II

Location: Kotzebue, AK

Status: Full Time


Position Summary:

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and generating daily and monthly reports for KIC Logistics. This includes performing regular cycle counts and updating the Epicor inventory management system. The role also involves receiving incoming freight, efficiently stocking items on the sales floor, and ensuring inventory is properly recorded and finalized in the POS system.


Additionally, this position supports daily store operations, focusing on maximizing customer satisfaction through efficient service and a professional, friendly demeanor in both in-person and phone interactions.


Responsibilities:

Inventory Specialist I

  • Perform regular inventory cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Maintain inventory accurately in the Epicor system.
  • Verify packing slips against received materials, matching item descriptions, quantities, and purchase order numbers.
  • Report inventory quality concerns promptly.
  • Assist with preparation for and participation in annual inventory audits.
  • Price, stock, and label merchandise appropriately.
  • Operate the POS system accurately.
  • Ensure back-stock inventory is properly labeled and stored.
  • Contribute to team efforts to increase sales and profitability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Inventory Specialist II

  • Inventory Specialist I responsibilities.
  • Supervise assigned team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Inventory Specialist II previous supervisory experience preferred.

Working Environment:

This is a fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking and regular attendance. Work may require occasional overtime.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to lift and transfer retail inventory from pallet to cart to store shelf.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, hold, and grasp retail inventory and documents.
  • Ability to enter text or data by means of keyboard and buttons into a computer, inventory scan tool, or other machine.
