We are seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, Neonatal Nurse or a NICU RN. The NICU RN provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or premature newborns who require intensive medical attention in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). NICU RN’s work closely with other healthcare professionals to support the complex needs of fragile infants.

**The NICU RN delivers safe, professional patient care using the nursing process, guides patient and staff activities, responds promptly to changes, ensures a safe environment, follows the chain of command, and provides direct care to neonates in the NICU from stabilization through discharge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): 

  • Monitor and assess newborns’ vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition while documenting observations accurately 
  • Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and specialized treatments as prescribed by physicians 
  • Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and feeding tubes to support infant care 
  • Provide respiratory support and assist with resuscitation when necessary, ensuring a sterile and safe environment 
  • Educate and support families regarding their infant’s condition, care plan, and progress while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans 

Education and Work Experience

  1. Current and valid state RN License.
  2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  3. NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  4. One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment.
  5. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
