A Full Time Interior Design Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and vendors at an interior design firm. Their responsibilities typically include greeting guests, answering and directing phone calls, managing appointment schedules, handling correspondence, and maintaining the reception area. They may also assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and ordering office supplies. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as the receptionist ensures smooth daily operations and supports the design team. The role often requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude.

To thrive as a Full Time Interior Design Receptionist, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in office administration, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with scheduling software, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and basic design terminology is typically required. Exceptional communication, professionalism, and a friendly demeanor help you build client rapport and support a positive office environment. These skills ensure efficient front desk operations, effective client service, and seamless support for the interior design team.

What tasks and interactions can a full time interior design receptionist expect during a typical workday?

Job description

DESIGN CONSULTANT

Full-Time | Calgary, AB | 7% Commission | Expected Earnings: $65,000-$75,000+ per year

Location: 8180 11 St SE, Unit 100, Calgary, AB.

TURN YOUR PASSION FOR DESIGN INTO A REWARDING SALES CAREER

At EQ3, we believe great design should be personal, functional, and built to last.

We're looking for a Design Consultant to join our Calgary team in a full-time capacity - someone who enjoys connecting with people, has an eye for design, and is motivated by results.

This is a full-commission sales position where your earning potential grows with your performance. Our Design Consultants earn 7% commission on written sales, with full-time consultants expected to earn approximately $65,000-$75,000+ annually and strong performers having the opportunity to earn beyond that range.

If you're confident working with customers, motivated by sales, and excited about helping people create spaces they love, this could be a great fit.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Design Consultant, you'll create an engaging and personalized experience for every customer while building relationships that turn conversations into sales.

You will:

  • Connect with customers to understand their lifestyle, space, and design needs
  • Recommend furniture, materials, finishes, and configurations that bring their vision to life
  • Build lasting customer relationships through proactive communication and follow-up
  • Develop and maintain your own sales pipeline
  • Stay knowledgeable about EQ3 products, collections, materials, and design solutions
  • Work toward individual sales goals while contributing to overall store performance
  • Collaborate with your team to create an inspiring and welcoming showroom experience
  • Stay connected with customers throughout their purchasing journey
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need to be an interior designer to succeed in this role. We're looking for someone who combines sales ability, customer focus, and an appreciation for great design.

You bring:

  • Proven success in retail, furniture, design, hospitality, or another customer-focused sales environment
  • A competitive and results-oriented mindset
  • Confidence working in a commission-driven environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to follow up, build a client base, and close sales
  • An appreciation for modern design, quality craftsmanship, and premium products
  • A self-motivated, entrepreneurial approach to your work
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Furniture or interior design experience is an asset, but strong sales ability and the motivation to learn are equally important.

COMPENSATION & EARNING POTENTIAL

This is a full-commission position paying 7% of written sales.

Our full-time Design Consultants are expected to earn approximately $65,000-$75,000+ per year, with the opportunity for high performers to exceed this range.

Your results directly influence your earning potential - the more you build relationships, develop your client base, and sell, the greater your opportunity to earn.

WHY EQ3?

At EQ3, you'll represent a Canadian design brand known for modern furniture, thoughtful craftsmanship, and timeless design.

We offer:

  • High earning potential through our 7% commission structure
  • Comprehensive benefits for eligible employees
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discounts on EQ3 products
  • Wellness and group banking programs
  • Training and ongoing product knowledge
  • Opportunities to grow your career in sales, design, customer experience, and retail leadership
  • A collaborative environment where your performance and initiative are recognized
READY TO BUILD YOUR CAREER WITH EQ3?

If you're passionate about people, inspired by design, and motivated by the opportunity to control your earning potential, we'd love to meet you.

Apply today and bring your sales talent and design perspective to our EQ3 Calgary team at 8180 11 St SE, Unit 100, Calgary, AB.

We thank all applicants for their interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
