At BTECH, you'll join a team dedicated to innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement while making a lasting impact on students, industry partners, and the community.
What You'll Do
As the Interior Design Department Head, you'll provide leadership for the department while maintaining a student-centered learning environment that reflects current industry standards and workforce needs.

  • Manage departmental budgets and oversee equipment, supplies, and educational resources.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, college policies, and safety requirements.
Teaching & Student Success
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction aligned with approved curriculum.
  • Create meaningful learning experiences that prepare students for industry careers.
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic support and guidance.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment.
  • Promote student achievement, completion, and employment outcomes.
Curriculum & Industry Engagement
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop and enhance curriculum.
  • Maintain strong relationships with industry professionals and advisory committees.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and workforce demands in interior design.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships, internships, and community engagement.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Build positive relationships with students, faculty, administration, employers, and community partners.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives.
  • Represent the college at industry and community events.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a creative leader, experienced educator, and industry professional who is committed to student success and program excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in interior design, architecture, space planning, or a closely related field.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in education, industry, or both.
  • Teaching, training, or mentoring experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current interior design practices, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Experience developing curriculum or training programs.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to build partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, professional, and student-focused culture.
