Job description

Are you looking for work that makes a genuine difference in your community? The Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida is hiring a Full-Time Health & Wellness Specialist, supporting the healthy aging of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers. This role is well suited to recent graduates, experienced professionals, and retirees alike, anyone who brings compassion and enthusiasm to promoting healthy living among aging adults.

As a Health & Wellness Specialist, you will coordinate and implement Health and Wellness initiatives across AAASWFL's seven-county service area: Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee, and Sarasota. The Health and Wellness Specialist works with volunteer leaders and community sites to schedule evidence-based health promotion workshops. They also certify in a variety of the evidence-based programs offered to lead classes and support the fidelity of all programs implemented. The Health & Wellness Specialist works with AAASWFL's Health & Wellness Coordinator to ensure accurate service reporting of state-funded activities, and they are a member of the agency's Outreach Team. 

Success in this role calls for self-motivation, flexibility, and strong organization. The candidate should be comfortable facilitating workshops and presentations for small and large groups, with sound public speaking skills. Travel throughout AAASWFL's seven-county service area is required.
