Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time HVAC Journeyman! In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Location: Spokane WA - Onsite
What you will do:
  • Perform service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including but not limited to chillers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
  • Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
  • Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacks
  • Perform intermediate and advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of commercial HVAC equipment
  • Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of all commercial HVAC equipment
  • Educate technical and non-technical customers on proper use of equipment, maintenance schedule, and operating manual usage
  • Lead and participate in the rebuild and retrofit of commercial HVAC level units including the direction of apprentice level technicians through hands-on demonstration of the necessary steps
  • Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
  • Download programs into commercial HVAC equipment and Micro controllers and analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance
  • Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, and off-site learning modules
  • Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
  • Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
  • Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Accepted as Journeyman by the union
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Rotational Emergency Call Support
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Member of local union or willing to join the union
  • Commercial HVAC Industry Experience
  • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
  • Current first aid / CPR card

The expected hourly rate for this position is $59.28/hr in WA. The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
