What is a full time hunting guide?

Full Time Hunting Guides are professionals who lead hunting trips and expeditions for clients, often working on a seasonal or year-round basis. They have extensive knowledge of wildlife, hunting regulations, safety procedures, and local terrain. Their responsibilities include planning hunts, tracking game, ensuring client safety, and sometimes providing equipment or lodging. Many full-time guides work for hunting lodges, outfitters, or as independent contractors. The job requires strong outdoor skills, customer service abilities, and a passion for wildlife and conservation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time hunting guide, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Hunting Guide, you need in-depth knowledge of local wildlife, tracking, navigation, firearm safety, and often require relevant licenses or certifications. Familiarity with GPS devices, mapping software, hunting equipment, and first-aid systems is typically necessary. Exceptional communication, leadership, and customer service skills help guides ensure client satisfaction and safety in the field. These abilities are crucial for providing a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience while maintaining legal and ethical hunting practices.

What are some of the biggest challenges full time hunting guides face during the peak season, and how can they prepare for them?

Full-time hunting guides often encounter challenges such as unpredictable weather, variable animal movement, and ensuring client safety and satisfaction under physically demanding conditions. During peak season, guides must be adaptable, maintain detailed knowledge of the terrain, and effectively manage group dynamics. Preparation involves scouting areas extensively, keeping up with local wildlife regulations, and honing communication skills to provide memorable, safe experiences for clients. Building strong relationships with landowners and continuously updating safety protocols are also crucial for success.

In-Home Sales Consultant – Flooring & Design
Turn Your Sales Talent Into a Six-Figure Career

Floor Coverings International is looking for a driven, proven sales pro ready for a role with uncapped earning potential — backed by a company that actually has your back.
You won't be starting from zero. We hand you qualified leads and give you the freedom to build your own network in the local market — because top producers don't just take leads, they create them. Add in top-tier tools and a team culture that feels like family, and you've got everything you need to close and grow.
If you've got 3+ years crushing it in in-home flooring sales, know your hardwood from your LVP, and you're ready to take control of your earnings and your schedule — this is your next move.
Why This Role Stands Out
  • Realistic First-Year Earnings: $100,000+ (combination of base + uncapped commission)
  • Leads on Day One: Company-generated leads plus the freedom to hunt and build your own
  • We Invest in You: Paid training, ongoing coaching, and a support system built around your success
  • Benefits: Health insurance available after initial employment period
  • Flexibility That Respects Your Life: Full-time with flexible scheduling (evenings/weekends as needed for client appointments)
  • Equipped to Win: Company van (mobile showroom), tablet, and gas covered — show up ready, every time
  • Rewards Beyond the Paycheck: Bonus opportunities and an annual company convention in Mexico
  • A Reputation Worth Selling: Join a locally trusted, 4.8/5.0-star brand and a national leader in in-home flooring
What You'll Do
You'll be the face of the customer's flooring project — meeting homeowners in their space, understanding their vision and budget, and guiding them to the flooring solution that fits both. You'll work both company-provided leads and self-generated opportunities, using your expertise and consultative approach to close with confidence.
What You Bring
  • 3–5+ years of in-home/outside flooring sales experience
  • A hunter's mentality paired with strong relationship-building instincts
  • Sharp communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort presenting and speaking with confidence in front of clients
  • Self-motivation, coachability, and a competitive drive
  • Comfort with basic sales tracking/reporting tools
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Availability for evening and weekend appointments
The Company
For over 20 years, Floor Coverings International – Vancouver has redefined what in-home flooring service looks like, guiding customers through every step from first selection to final installation. Under Toby's leadership, our team has earned Franchise of the Year honors (2009 and 2022) and built a loyal local following backed by a 4.8/5.0-star reputation — the result of solid business practices, a loyal customer base, and values that don't waver.
