Job Summary:
This position is designed to provide guests to Mumm Napa with an outstanding and unique winery experience. Our hospitality representative's work with a team of skilled professionals to ensure guests receive the best impression of Mumm Napa, with a focus at all times on customer service, sales and wine club sign-ups. The presentation made to the guests must be carried out properly, professionally, and in a manner consistent with the philosophies and image of Mumm Napa. Hospitality representatives will have strong knowledge and passion for wine, and exhibit enthusiasm in sharing this informationwith our guests.
Essential Functions:
The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
  • Providing guests with an outstanding and unique experience. This includes:
    • Providing a friendly and sincere greeting
    • Educating guests about Mumm Napa's history and wines
    • Developing ongoing relationships with guests to stimulate repeat visits and future sales.
    • Assisting guests with information and reservations at restaurants, hotels, and other wineries as needed
    • Hosting a unique and engaging tasting
    • Pouring and describing wines and winemaking techniques
    • Setting up and conducting general and private tours and tastings for trade, VIPs or club members
  • Promoting and selling Mumm Napa Wine Club, wine products and gift merchandise
  • Assisting with hospitality special events, special wine tastings, and VIP luncheons/dinners
  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Stay current on recent wine reviews, industry issues
  • Learn about other wineries and their wines; use that information to recommend other wineries with great tasting experiences for our guests.
  • Assist with daily business functions, including opening and closing procedures, wine inventory, and restocking.
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions and daily sales accounting.
  • Assist with bar, cashier, or phone duties as needed.
  • Learn and adhere to all principles of Mumm Napa's ISO QSE Management System.
  • Respond quickly and graciously to customer requests and feedback.

Qualifications:
Essential:
  • Proven sales results, in the wine industry or other
  • Knowledge of wine & wine production as would normally be attained through 1-3 years of experience in the wine industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some college level education preferred, specifically in Business Administration, Marketing or Public Relations.
  • Excellent verbal & interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Clean and professional appearance
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, some holidays and evenings as necessary
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Desirable:
  • Bilingual any other language a plus
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-end hospitality environment

Working Conditions:
  • Regular working schedule to include weekends and holidays
  • Long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events
  • Moderate to heavy physical work (moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events)
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds (case of wine)
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Comply with Company safety regulations

Salary Range: $20.00 - $25.00
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location. TFE offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, PTO, wellness programs and fertility and family building benefits. We also provide a 401(k) plan where TFE may make a discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
