Position Overview

The HOA Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily security operations within the homeowner’s association community. This role is critical to maintaining the safety and security of residents, visitors, and property. The Security Supervisor manages security personnel, enforces HOA rules, coordinates incident response, and ensures a professional and visible security presence throughout the community.

The primary function of this position is to supervise Access Management Officers, Community Security Patrol Officers, and the Security Operations Center, including dispatch and surveillance operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervision of Security Staff

  • Direct and supervise Access Management Officers, Dispatch Operators, Surveillance Operators, and Security Patrol Officers
  • Prepare duty schedules, assign posts, and coordinate additional staffing as needed
  • Ensure compliance with HOA rules, regulations, and established security procedures
  • Provide leadership, training, performance feedback, and employee evaluations
  • Complete training enhancements as directed by the Security Captain
  • Document commendable performance and administer disciplinary actions when necessary

2. Access Control Management

  • Monitor entry and exit of residents, guests, and service providers
  • Ensure proper use of gate systems, visitor logs, and access credentials
  • Address unauthorized access concerns

3. Patrol and Monitoring

  • Ensure regular patrols of common areas, gates, and community facilities
  • Oversee surveillance operations and respond to alarm activations
  • Identify and report suspicious activity or safety hazards
  • Verify completion of assigned duties

4. Incident Response and Reporting

  • Respond to incidents including trespassing, disturbances, and property damage
  • Coordinate with emergency services when necessary
  • Prepare accurate incident and daily activity reports

5. Enforcement of HOA Rules

  • Assist in enforcing community safety and security policies
  • Address violations professionally and respectfully
  • Collaborate with HOA management on corrective actions

6. Communication and Coordination

  • Serve as a liaison between security staff, residents, and HOA management
  • Provide updates to the Security Captain regarding security issues and training needs
  • Address resident concerns and complaints professionally

7. Safety and Emergency Preparedness

  • Implement emergency response plans
  • Conduct safety drills and briefings
  • Ensure all security and emergency equipment is operational

8. Equipment and Records Management

  • Maintain security equipment including radios, uniforms, and cameras
  • Keep accurate logs, reports, and documentation
  • Recommend security improvements or upgrades
  • Assist residents with vehicle transponders
  • Ensure proper and consistent use of Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs)

9. Professional Conduct and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and HOA policies
  • Promote ethical behavior and professionalism
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valid PILB card with Armed Endorsement
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or community safety
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities
  • Strong communication, report-writing, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Knowledge of security systems and emergency response procedures
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical Fitness & Readiness Standards (Required)

    All applicants must pass a physical fitness assessment to demonstrate job-related readiness consistent with armed patrol duties:
