Pay Range: $218,941.00 - $265,699.00 Annual

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Physicist is responsible for technical aspects of the quality control program in the Radiation Oncology Dept., including equipment calibration and commissioning. Ensures that the dose prescription is accurately delivered to the defined patient site.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Radiation Science, Health Physics, Physics or equivalent 
  • Two years of experience in a clinical Radiation Therapy Department
  • Eligible for ABR certification in related Medical physics specialty

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Assists Chief Physicist in meeting the NJ State and NRC regulations for patient treatment and safety
  • Assists Dosimetrists in performing all treatment planning and calculations as well as performing these same procedures
  • Assists in yearly and monthly calibrations of Linear Accelerators as assigned by the Chief Physicist
  • Plans HDR brachytherapy cases; performs HDR calibrations, delivers HDR treatment with physician authorized users
  • Verifies all treatment parameters are entered in the patient chart and the correctness of them in R/V system
  • Works in close contact with the Chief physicist, Dosimetrists, and physicians in solving treatment problems
  • Performs other duties as assigned
