About the Role: Full Time (40 Hours) Automotive Reconditioning Specialist

The Automotive Reconditioning Specialist plays a critical role in preparing vehicles for sale by restoring them to optimal condition aesthetically. This position involves a comprehensive evaluation of new and used vehicles to identify necessary repairs, and cosmetic enhancements that increase vehicle value and appeal. The specialist collaborates closely with site Management to ensure that each vehicle meets company standards and customer expectations before delivery. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of reconditioning practices are essential to effectively manage the process from start to finish. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the company and dealership by ensuring high-quality, market-ready vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in automotive reconditioning, and related automotive repair roles.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive bodywork.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in automotive reconditioning and/or repair (e.g., ASE certification).
  • Experience with paint correction and minor body repairs.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing workflow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations related to automotive detailing and reconditioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming new, used and customer vehicles to assess cosmetic conditions.
  • Perform or coordinate necessary repairs, including, leather/vinyl, steering wheel, headlight, paint touch-ups, buffing and wheel restoration/repair.
  • Coordinate with the detailing team, post reconditioning, to ensure vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and polished inside and out.
  • Maintain accurate records of reconditioning work performed and parts used.
  • Collaborate with management, sales and service departments to prioritize vehicle readiness and address any specific customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during all reconditioning activities.
  • Continuously monitor and improve reconditioning processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
