Job Details
OVERVIEW
First Coast Security is seeking an experienced Director of Security Operations to build and lead the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time, in-person leadership role responsible for the full lifecycle of GSOC operations - from systems architecture and technology integration to team development and business intelligence. The GSOC operates 24/7/365, and this director will own its growth, maturity, and performance across multiple geographically distributed nodes. The right candidate is a builder, not a caretaker, with a track record of scaling enterprise security operations programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Lead all GSOC operations across geographically separated nodes, ensuring 24/7/365 monitoring, incident response, and operational consistency
  • Develop and execute a multi-year GSOC roadmap covering systems integration, workforce development, and capability expansion
  • Serve as senior incident commander for complex security events, coordinating cross-functional and multi-jurisdictional response
  • Own the selection, deployment, and maintenance of GSOC technology platforms including CCTV/VMS, access control, intrusion detection, and critical event management systems
  • Build and maintain business intelligence infrastructure including Power BI dashboards and executive-level reporting for internal leadership and external clients
  • Represent First Coast Security in customer-facing meetings, GSOC tours, vendor negotiations, and industry conferences
  • Define staffing requirements and manage recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management for all GSOC personnel
  • Drive TMA Five Diamond Designation attainment and embed its standards into GSOC training, SOPs, and quality assurance programs

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in security operations, crisis management, or emergency management
  • Minimum 4 years in a senior GSOC leadership role at an enterprise or national level
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly maturing a GSOC program - not managing a steady-state operation
  • Hands-on experience with physical security platforms: CCTV/VMS, access control (ACS/PACS), intrusion detection (IDS), critical event management (CEM), and mass notification systems
  • Strong business intelligence skills including KPI dashboard development, trend analysis, and executive reporting
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams across multiple locations
  • Proven ability to present to C-suite executives, customers, and external partners
  • Flexible availability to support a 24/7/365 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must achieve TMA Five Diamond Designation within 6 months of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI)
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, or comparable data visualization platforms
  • Experience with threat intelligence platforms such as Dataminr or DigitalStakeout
  • Familiarity with Everbridge, Ontic, Milestone, Lenel, or comparable enterprise security platforms
  • Prior experience in contract security, managed security services, or a multi-client GSOC environment
  • Active membership in ASIS International or the Security Industry Association (SIA)

Education Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree
