Job description

Elmet Technologies, a division of The Elmet Group, is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium.
We are currently sourcing candidates for a Machine Operator, Grinder at our Euclid, OH facility. This person will be responsible for operating a variety of grinding equipment, including but not limited to; Blanchard grinder, double disc grinder. This may include ultrasonic cleaning units, sandblasting equipment and saws, to fabricate metal stock; primarily molybdenum, tungsten, copper and steel products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Crane operation to load and unload materials.
Remove completed work pieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place work pieces in containers.
Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
Complete required inspection forms as required.
Use solvents to clean surfaces.
Changes grinding wheels as required to maintain quality.
Does minor maintenance as needed to grinder or associated equipment.
Will assist maintenance if needed on large repairs or breakdowns of unit.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards.
Assure consistent product quality through established production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product.
Recommend improvements to safety and housekeeping procedures.
Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Requires high school diploma or equivalent
2-4 years previous manufacturing experience
Basic math skills (i.e., decimals, percentages) are required to perform necessary job functions
An understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers and dial indicators) and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to operate a forklift, suction and mechanical lifts, air tools, etc., is needed to process material
Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language
Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT
Stand for long periods of time. Lift and/or move 50+ pounds. Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Work time is spent in factory environment where temperatures fluctuate.
