Salary Range: $48,703- $100,722 per year

Employment Terms: Full-Time, 10-Month

Bargaining Unit: NEW LONDON EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

Position Overview: Teach Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence courses that prepare high school students for college, industry certifications, and careers in emerging technology through engaging, hands-on, interdisciplinary instruction.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence courses aligned with district curriculum, Connecticut standards, and industry expectations.

  • Develop and implement engaging, hands-on, project-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem solving, and innovation.

  • Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and postsecondary pathways.

  • Foster student awareness of careers in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, information technology, computer science, and related STEM fields.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) educator certificate with an endorsement in one or more of the following endorsement areas: 034 Computer Science, 047 Technology Education and 029 Mathematics or other applicable
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, computer systems, artificial intelligence, computer science, or related technical fields.

  • Strong instructional skills and the ability to engage students in hands-on, project-based STEM learning.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

  • Previous experience teaching computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, engineering, or related STEM coursework.

Preferred Industry Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, A+, CEH, CCNA, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Google Cybersecurity, or comparable industry certifications.
