Golf Intern
Classification: Hourly Employee
Reports to: Golf Professional Staff
Job Description: The Golf intern is responsible for assisting the golf professional staff with the day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The tasks and responsibilities of the golf intern are to ensure all aspects of the golf operation run smoothly on a daily basis.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist in the leadership of the outside operations staff on a daily basis, providing them guidance and ensuring all the daily tasks get completed.
• Work alongside outside staff with cart shuttles to and from the turn house.
• Ranger the golf course to ensure play is moving at an acceptable pace.
• Assisting in the planning, organization, and execution of all tournaments. Including cart fronts, scorecards, score boards, rules sheets, tee gifts and cart presentation.
• Assist in the merchandise operation by receiving, presenting, and selling inventory.
• Running junior golf programs such as the Junior Club Championship, and a series of junior camps accommodating all ages and skill levels.
• Assisting with the Men's Group on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The Men's Group consists of the following.
o Creating the format of the game for each day.
o Providing scorecards.
o Making a score board and scoring the event following play.
o Collecting money and paying out the winners for each day.
• Assisting in the planning and execution of Ladies Play Day. Ladies Play Day consists of the following.
o Organizing the game for each week.
o Teaching a clinic prior to the start of play for the nine-hole group.
o Making scorecards, cart fronts, and rules sheets.
o Making a scoreboard and scoring the event when play is completed.
• Monitor supply levels for the entire golf operation.
• Assisting in the day-to-day operation of the golf shop by answering phone calls, greeting and checking in members and guests.
• Providing member relations by interacting and playing golf with members and their guests.
• Responsible for upholding golf standards at Practice Facility, this includes but is not limited to picking and stocking the range, cleaning golf balls and other golf equipment, maintaining range building, and attending to members while practicing.
• Maintaining of golf cart fleet. This includes cleanliness, organization, proper rotation, and preparation.
• Aid in improving and maintaining member bag storage system.

Requirements
Competencies: Microsoft Office, Golf Genius, Google Drive, Interpersonal Skills, and Integrity.
Work Environment: Able to work long days and consecutive days.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and stand on your feet up to 10 hours a day.
Required Education and Experience: Enrolled in the PGA of America curriculum or attending a PGA accredited University.
