Job description

Furnace Technician - Carbide Sintering Operator
Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now hiring for a full-time Furnace Technician to check and operate furnace, grinder, & other equipment needed in carbide manufacturing process at our Saxonburg facility. We are looking for individuals who desire to work in a team atmosphere where they will have the potential to grow and advance in a career within our employee-owned company.
Responsibilities:
  • Check equipment such as furnace, grinder and other equipment for proper maintenance and preparation before starting each job
  • Prioritize, plan and prepare work; sort jobs by due dates and complexity of tasks
  • Read and study blueprints
  • Gather proper amounts of supplies to complete each job
  • May be responsible for sandblasting carbide components
  • Inspect parts for conformance to customer specifications
  • Perform general cleanup duties in work area.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, some vocational education is a plus
  • Must be able to work daylight, afternoon and/or midnight shifts, as needed
  • Must possess strong blueprint reading, math and mechanical abilities
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels
  • High degree of accuracy, service attitude, and commitment to quality
  • Able to work independently and cooperatively with teams
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for up to 8-10 hours
  • Prior manufacturing experience is a plus
