Job Description RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a GIS Technician in Iselin, NJ; Freehold, NJ; Morristown, NJ and New York. Overview of YOUR role as a GIS Technician In this role, you will utilize GIS software and Excel to support mapping and spatial data analysis needs. You will create, update, and manage geospatial data, collaborating with team members to deliver accurate and visually clear GIS drawings for a variety of projects. As a GIS Technician YOU will: Utilize GIS software to create, update, and manage geospatial data Support mapping and spatial data analysis needs for various projects Develop accurate and visually clear GIS drawings and maps Use Excel for data analysis, management, and reporting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements Maintain and update spatial databases and geodatabases Perform quality control checks on GIS data and outputs Present GIS data clearly to stakeholders and team members Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Meet project deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail YOU are the ideal GIS Technician candidate if you have: Proficiency with any GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.) Strong Excel skills for data analysis and management Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting GIS data clearly Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records It's a BONUS if you have: Advanced technical skills in GIS tools or programming A portfolio of GIS drawings (include with submittal) Experience supporting engineering, planning, or environmental projects Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field Experience with spatial analysis and geoprocessing Familiarity with database management and SQL About Our CLIENT Our Client is a global engineering, management, and development firm
