Fabricator (Structural & Miscellaneous Steel)
Location: Initial training in Raleigh, NC | Permanent location in Durham, NC (Moving July 2026)
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $26.00 / hour (Up to $26.00/hour based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Fabricators to join our team in Durham, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience fabricating structural and miscellaneous steel components and be proficient in MIG and TIG welding. This position requires the ability to interpret blueprints, perform fitting and layout, and fabricate steel components to precise specifications in a shop environment.
Responsibilities
  • Fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel components from blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Perform fitting, layout, measuring, and assembly of steel components.
  • Operate MIG and TIG welding equipment to complete high-quality welds.
  • Cut, grind, prep, and finish materials for fabrication.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
  • Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards and dimensional accuracy.
  • Safely operate fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while following company safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of fabrication experience in structural and/or miscellaneous steel.
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experience fabricating items such as beams, columns, frames, handrails, stairs, platforms, catwalks, or similar steel structures.
  • Ability to perform fitting and layout independently.
  • Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills.
  • Experience using grinders, saws, torches, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a fabrication shop environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with custom steel fabrication.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience.
  • Welding certifications are a plus but not required.
